Random Travel Lessons You Pick Up From Traveling Frequently
by admin
There are a lot of strange lessons to be learned while traveling. If you’re a frequent flyer then the chances are there are going to be a lot of lessons and then the lessons learnt will be even stranger and random. Here are some of the random travel lessons I’ve learned from my travels.
1. In everyday life you don’t see yourself reaching for a bottle of wine at 7 in the morning. There is no such thing as “too early” on a plane. You have the ‘I am on a holiday’ card up your sleeve and you can drink as many as you like and you won’t be (too harshly) judged. The only one stopping you from sipping that delicious wine on the start of your holiday is you.
2. Obviously the more you travel the more you learn. One of the first things you’ll master is to pack like a pro. After the first few trips you won’t find yourself packing that extra pair of jeans or a pair of shoes that you just won’t up wearing. Your packing motto will quickly become travel light, easily and breezily.
3. Every destination has its own charm. Doing some research before a holiday never hurt anyone, but doing too much research is frowned upon. Why not go easy on yourself, relax and go with the flow. Isn’t that what the holidays are about in the first place? You will never be able to experience a place If you’re not a little spontaneous. Leave that little travel itinerary behind and just enjoy the process of taking in the local culture and scenery. It will do you good.
4. All of us can get a little frugal with money at times. Believe me when I say, taking a taxi or an Uber to the airport is well worth that extra investment. Imagine dragging your luggage on a bus or a tube on your way to the airport. You’ll be tired even before you get to the airport. It’s not a good start to any holiday.
5. All those who pass by an airport lounge and stare longingly at it will be happy to know that the access is more reasonably priced than they’d thought. Loyalty card programs from British Airways and Avois offer a price which can surprisingly be value for money. Don’t believe me? Well, calculate how much you spend on a breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner at an airport. it can add up to quite a lot, and will cost you more than the lounge access. Airport lounges offer food, drinks and comfort with no extra charges.
6. You learn to be more flexible with your dates and the destination. Travelling frequently means that you’ll be falling in love with places you had never imagined. This makes you open minded about trying new places and things.
7. Don’t dress up when you’re traveling. Keep it comfortable as possible so you can enjoy yourself right from the start.
